If you just can't seem to choose which excursion to do or if there's not enough time to do all the excursions you want, Samana is the answer. This tour is, arguably, a combination of 3 excursions. Oh, and we also throw in a waterfall! We will privatize your transport to/from the airport as well as the plane ride to Samana just for your group.
Samana is a peninsula in the northeast region of the Dominican Republic, boasting a mix of virgin beaches and lush forests with a terrain that is about 70% mountainous. From Punta Cana you'll board our charter flight and land 30 minutes later in Samana's Arroyo Barril Airport. Your safari trucks will be waiting for you as we, immediately, venture into Samana's mountainous countryside. Our first stop is at a typical ranch where we'll take some time to learn about and taste the region's rich local produce: coconut, coffee, cocoa, mango, pineapple, sweet potato, banana, papaya, passion fruit and mamajuana (supposedly a natural aphrodisiac).
Back on the truck, you'll pass by many plantations of produce you just savored at the ranch, before arriving at the entrance of one of the Dominican Republic's most sought-after waterfalls: El Salto de Limon. Now it's time to saddle-up for a 30 minute horseback ride that takes you across rivers and over Limon waterfall's famously muddy path. El Salto de Limon is truly a sight to see, nestled in the depths of Samana's tropical forests, the cascade crashes from 170 feet above into a green lagoon below. You'll then have time to cool off in Limon's refreshing mountain waters.
After our Limon waterfall journey, to the truck we go as we make our way to Samana Bay. Arriving at Samana's coastline, you'll board a catamaran for a short trip to our beach lunch spot down shore. Enjoy a typical Dominican lunch of fish, chicken, rice, beans, salad, fresh fruit and dessert in an amazing Caribbean setting.
Once you've had your fill, we'll hop back on the catamaran for a ride to Cayo Levantado, also known as Bacardi Island. The beach is open amidst palm trees, turquoise waters and a mountainous backdrop. Don't forget to try a real Pina Colada with rum, ice and juice right in the pineapple!

You will be traveling by plane from PUJ (Punta Cana International Airport) to Samana
With 12 people, the transportation to and from the airport, as well as the plane ride will be your group only. The catamaran ride to Cayo Levantado and the Safari Truck in Samana will be shared with others. However, you can make these private also. Just ask.
Drinks are included during the transport around the Samana peninsula
Most people take a horse, but you can opt to walk if you would like. It's about a 25 minute walk to the falls. The men who attend to the horses during the hike to the falls are local countryside people, and may ask for a gratuity. This is completely at your discretion and is always appreciated. We can ensure the proper treatment of the horses but it is difficult to compare them to horses in North America, for example. These are country horses mainly used for cargo.
